Kimmarie Johnson, the actress and model who won Miss Pennsylvania USA in 1992 and played a guest role on Beverly Hills, 90210, died on Wednesday, November 4, in Los Angeles. She was 50.
Her niece, Rhonda Scott, confirmed the death on Thursday, speaking first to TMZ and then to People. Johnson died peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, Scott said.
On Tuesday, October 27, Johnson suffered what the family calls a “heart event” at her Los Angeles home. She was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where, her family says, she was diagnosed with a “heart aneurysm condition” — the family’s words for the diagnosis. No official cause of death has been released, and the family hasn’t said that condition was the cause.
Johnson was born Kim Marie Johnson on April 8, 1976, in Pittsburgh. She was working as a flight attendant when she entered the Miss Pennsylvania USA pageant in 1992 after seeing a newspaper advertisement — she entered on a whim, and won. The title opened a modeling career that lasted decades; as recently as August 2026 she appeared on the cover of Grazia Slovenia.
Her screen work began in the late 1990s. In 1998 she appeared in the film Let’s Talk About Sex and in “The Following Options,” a ninth-season episode of Beverly Hills, 90210. She was in Dude, Where’s My Car? in 2000 and the series V.I.P. the same year, and her later credits include Legacy (2010) and The Summer of Massacre (2012).
She’s survived by her son, Cameron, 23.
